What is ReliaBills?
ReliaBills is a payment service provider, founded in 2012. It was created as an “innovative solution to a traditionally offline process”, and it’s been serving SMBs in that capacity very well.
It has several functionalities, including invoice creation, accounts management, and payment services. Signing up is easy, and you can start accepting payments in less than 24 hours.
Pros of ReliaBills
ReliaBills is a great solution for freelancers, as well as SMBs. Here are the key benefits of the platform:
Dynamic solution for SMBs
The ReliaBills’ website claims that it “makes invoices that are easy to create, looks great, and are free!”. With ReliaBills, you can manage your invoices, payments, customers, and reports, all in one place.
Responsive Mobile Platform
Quickly check for updates or create invoices on the go on your mobile device. Unfortunately, the mobile version isn’t properly optimized for smaller screens, making navigation tricky.
Time Saving Auto-invoicing and recurring payments
Automatically send out invoices with ReliaBills’ recurring invoice feature. You can also track payments, send out auto payment reminders, and failed payment notifications.
Simplicity
Though it may appear a little confusing, ReliaBills is easy to use. The dashboard shows all important information at-a-glance, with easy navigation to other sections. It was created to be a simple-to-use platform for any user, and it tries to fulfill that goal.
Great reporting
The ReliaBills dashboard gives a brief overview of important details. You can also draw several detailed reports but, unfortunately, you can’t customize reporting templates.
Time Tracking
ReliaBills doesn’t include any time tracking features.
Invoice-to-pay function
ReliaBills allows for payments via several methods. You’ll need to record payments manually with the free version, while the paid version allows your clients to pay you directly.

Customer Service
Customers can find all available contact methods via their Dashboard. Unfortunately, there’s no support ticket system or live chat. However, you can contact support via email, or by calling support between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm Central Time. We tested customer support as part of our review and can attest to their responsiveness during these hours.
ReliaBills also has an extensive Knowledge Base available on the website. You can troubleshoot most of your issues here or find answers to many of the most common problems you might encounter.
Bottom line
ReliaBills is certainly well-loved by its users, and many excellent features come with this online invoicing platform. It’s a great option for freelancers and is PCI compliant.
That said, there are a few areas where it can certainly make improvements. For example, while many of its features are free, you’ll need to pay a significantly higher subscription fee than providers such as QuickBooks and FreshBooks. It also doesn’t offer any time tracking functionality, something that both QuickBooks and FreshBooks have available.
If you’re looking for a free system that will cover the basics, ReliaBills is an excellent option. However, if you’re looking for an affordable and scalable solution with exceptional functionality, you might want to try the other options instead.
